This past Thursday, Queen Mathilde attended the celebration of the International Day of the Rights of the Child. The Queen attended a roundtable meeting organized by UNICEF Belgium and Plan Belgique, a non-governmental organization independent. The Duchess of Alba, Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart, has died today at the age of 88, news which was confirmed by the Mayor of Seville. The Duchess passed away at her home in Seville, Dueñas Palace. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Tuesday has named his half-brother, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, as his deputy. Sheikh Abdullah was head of the royal cabinet and in 2013 he became head of Qatar Investment Authority. Sheikh Tamim has not appointed a Crown Prince since he ascended the throne in June 2013.
